Abstract: The National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held by the CCP Central Committee of and the State Council in Beijing on the 9th. The Party and State leaders Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli attended the conference and presented awards to the winners. The micro heat pipe research and manufacturing technology project jointly developed by Guangdong Newidea Technology Co., Ltd. and South China University of Technology - Complex Surface Heat Function Structure and Morphology and Controllable Manufacturing Technology won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award!

 

The National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held by the CCP Central Committee of and the State Council in Beijing on the 9th. The Party and State leaders Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli attended the conference and presented awards to the winners. In 2016, the National Science and Technology Awards awarded in total of 279 projects, 7 scientists and technological experts and 1 international organization. Among these awards, there are 2 National Highest Science and Technology Awards; 42 National Natural Science Awards (1 first prize and 41 second prizes); 66 National Technological Invention Awards (3 first prizes and 63 second prizes); 171 National Science and Technology Progress Awards (2 special awards, 20 first prizes and 149 second prizes);5 foreign scientists and technology experts and 1 international organization are awarded the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.

 

The Guangdong Newidea Technology has worked closely with Prof. Tang Yong and Prof. Li Yong from the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Institute of South China University of Technology(SCUT) for the research and development of efficient heat control technology. In 2010, our company and the SCUT jointly won the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress in the field of heat pipe manufacturing technology. In 2016, we were recommended by the Guangdong Government to apply for the National Science Progress Award and won the second prize!

The “Complex Surface heat functional Structure Morphology  and Controllable Manufacturing Technology” is an important technological breakthrough for the micro heat pipes research and manufacturing. We transformed the project results into high-power large-diameter heat pipe products and relevant heat control solutions, which successfully solved the core IGBT thermal control problem of the China-Japan high-speed train. We also provided CRRC with the complete set of large-diameter heat pipe manufacturing equipment and heat pipe products, and has stood out from the fierce competition with top international heat pipe manufacturers as the exclusive heat pipes supplier for the IGBT heat dissipation in Japan’s high-speed train (including Shinkansen and East Rail).

 

In the past year, we has made abundant achievements in the high-efficiency thermal control. We are the first company in China to develop and commercialize ultra-thin micro heat pipes (thickness 0.4mm) for mobile phone cooling; worked with the China Mobile South Base to design the water-cooled heat pipe heat dissipation system that realizes the “precisely cooling” of the server, which makes the data center computer room PUE<1.2 (saved over 40% energy); worked with China FAW Group and Prof. Yuying Yan in the UK to develop a lithium ion battery heat pipe cooling system; established a long-term strategic cooperative relationship with the Germany WIK on the development of the application of micro heat pipe on low-temperature heat pipes and small home electronic devices. We are also the leading enterprise in the manufacturing technology of copper water heat pipe.

 

In next year, we will continue to take the research of efficient thermal control technology into the next level and devote ourselves into science.
