Li Yong is the technical director of Guangdong Newidea Technology Co., Ltd. and the professor of the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Institute of the South China University of Technology (SCUT). He was awarded the “70th anniversary of People’s Republic of China (PRC)” commemorative medal on October 1, 2019.

Issuing the “70th anniversary of PRC” commemorative medal is highly important to the celebration of the “70th anniversary of the founding of PRC. It is significant for strengthening patriotism education, cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism, and enhancing the cohesion and inspiration of the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Li Yong is a professor (doctoral advisor) of South China University of Technology and the member of the Marie Curie Research Fellowship (EU Marie Curie Talent Program). In the past two decades, he has been developing research on the design and manufacturing technology of micro heat pipe structure, automatic production technology of micro heat pipe, the design of micro-electron/photo-electron and the power/electronic thermal management systems. He won the first prize in the Guangdong Science Progress Award as a core member in 2010, and the second prize in State Science and Technology Progress Award as the second completer in 2016. In addition, He has published nearly 30 papers domestically and internationally and received more than 70 national patent authorizations, including 23 invention patents. As the technical director of Guangdong Newidea Technology, he leads a technical team of more than 20 engineers (including 2 with doctoral degree and 10 with master degree) to provide “efficient, reliable and economical” cooling solutions for our valued customers.
